Collegiate Scholarship Event for Nation’s Top High School Performing Arts Students Announced

NEW YORK, NY – February 24, 2020 – National Presenters Association announced the inaugural Performers National Signing Day, a national collegiate scholarship and audition experience for high school performing arts students. The announcement was made during the 100th anniversary of Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) annual convention in San Antonio, Texas, the largest and most highly regarded state music educators convention in the nation.

This inaugural Performers National Signing Day is a four-day event to be held in January 2021, during the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday weekend (January 16-19, 2021). The first three days are designed for showcase/audition presentations, along with opportunities for personal interaction between students/parents and colleges/universities/conservatories. The culminating event will be a star-studded concert held in Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium on Tuesday afternoon, January 19, 2021, and will highlight the decisions made between students and scholarship awarding institutions.

“It’s our mission to create a vibrant and valuable opportunity for students to showcase their talents to colleges, universities and conservatories who are actively seeking the best students for their programs. By doing so, we will transform the collegiate recruitment process for students and celebrate the impact of music education on young lives across the nation.”

“We decided to make the Performers National Signing Day announcement at TMEA because it represents the largest, most accomplished and revered music education system in the country. The response from educators, students and the higher education community was enthusiastic and more supportive than we could have hoped. The music education community and higher education have captured the vision for Performers National Signing Day in its mission to recognize and support these students,” states David Campbell, Executive Producer, Performer National Signing Day.
